PRACTICE PROFILE

PMC was set up in 2002 by Steve Hunt and Dave Porthouse. The company has grown steadily since 2002 on the back of new business wins and now employs some 26 technical and support staff. We are committed to a program of expansion and plan to grow considerably throughout 2008 and into the future.

"We are now able to provide a nationwide service to the insurance industry dealing primarily with building related claims."

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

We employ well qualified technical staff, all of whom have the appropriate knowledge and experience to deal with the type and size of loss allocated to them.

The principles of ‘FSA Compliance’ are adopted and we have a robust process of staff evaluation by means of a ‘Skills Check’ procedure to ensure key staff competencies.  We undertake regular reviews of competence and a training regime is in place to address any areas of weakness.

We recognise the importance of continuity throughout a claim and thus, the appointed Project Manager retains overall responsibility for the claim from start to finish.  Whilst the Contracts Manager will provide a first point of contact for the policyholder during the course of the remedial works, the policyholder is also able to continue to liaise directly with the Project Manager.

WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE

"Our technical staff are well qualified and respected engineers and surveyors, all of whom have gained experience in the type of work that they are required to complete."

We recognise that the skills and abilities of our staff will vary and through the processes described above are able to ensure that the staff member appointed has the appropriate level of expertise and experience to deal with the claim or aspect of the claim concerned.
This means that each Project Manager is able to deal effectively with all aspects of claim management.

Particular importance is attached to the skills and abilities of the Project Manager to deal effectively with the general public and to effectively and equitably apply the terms and conditions of the policy.

A similar philosophy is adopted in the recruitment of experienced Contracts Managers who arrange pre-contract meetings, inspect the repairs works, check and certify valuations and confirm the satisfactory completion of the repairs.
